Q: 2010 hyundai elantra gls, I have an ipod and use the usb cord that I plug into the computer to plug?
computer. When I use it to plug it into the car it does not display the music properly on the stereo. I was told I need to get a special cord from Hyundai to have it displayed properly on the stereo. I was wondering why it is that way.

A: An IPOD cable from Hyundai its about $10. It comes with proper terminals in order to properly read the content on your device.

Q: Does anyone know the name of the techno song in the new 2010 Hyundai Elantra tent sale commercial on radio?

A: "Red Sky Warning"

Q: Hyundai Elantra 2010?
I'm turning 16 and I wanted to get a new car, I heard the 2010 Hyundai Elantra is good, is it for a first car? Thanks so much:) Can you get a new one with $14,000?

A: I would save a few thousand dollars and get a KIA instead for a first car. I doubt you will get an Elantra for that price. A new KIA can be gotten for under $10,000.

Q: my 2010 hyundai elantra has no temp gage just a idiot warning light is this safe?
should i install a gage or be confident with the warning light, this is a stupid thing for hyundai to do for a 2010 model 20,000 car

A: we have not seen any issues with this light. it is very effective. besides if there is an issue with the coolant system it will set a check engine light.

Q: Issues with 2010 Hyundai Elantra alarm system.?
I just purchased a 2010 Hyundai Elantra a week ago and not a day has gone by where I haven't grabbed my keys and gone running to my car because the alarm would randomly go off. I've tried everything from to open and shutting all the doors along with the hood and trunk, to checking the sensor and attempting to disable the battery. Yet to no avail was I able to get it to stop randomly going off and I've had to resort to just locking the doors by key to avoid arming the alarm. I'm curious if anybody else has had this issue and what you did to fix the problem. I tried calling the dealer hoping he would have some insight since after all he is a Hyundai dealer. All he told me was to bring it in and since it's a good 40 miles away and I work 10 hour shifts 7 days a week this isn't exactly feasible and am hoping somebody else would know what could be going on?

A: These Elantras have a pretty common problem with the hood switch. If your hood switch is not adjusted correctly, it will randomly make the vehicle think the hood is being opened when the alarm is armed, causing the alarm to go off. I know this is frustrating, and I'm sorry to hear how far you are from your dealer. Call your dealer and ask them if they provide transportation or pick-up service. Many dealers will offer to have a Driver bring you a loner vehicle, usually a newer model Hyundai, and drive your vehicle to the shop for warranty complaints to avoid you having to make a long trip for a problem that is covered by your warranty. Please know that this is one of very few common problems with the Elantra, they are probably Hyundai's most reliable vehicle and you made a good choice in getting one. Ask them to check for any open campaigns while it is in the shop. I Hope that you get your problem resolved.

Q: engine oil 2010 hyundai elantra gls 2.0?
my owners manual calls for conventional oil every 3750 miles or six months, hyundai said it doesn't recommend synthetic, if i do use synthetic will this effect my warranty.......................

A: You may use synthetic 5W-20 oil in your new Hyundai worry-free. Congress in 1975 enacted the federal Magnuson-Moss Act to regulate written consumer product warranties. An examination of the law reveals warranties remain intact when synthetic lubricants are used. Synthetic oil is the best choice for any vehicle in the long run. While they will cost more at the time of your oil change, they will save you more money over the service life of your vehicle. For example, over the course of 25,000 miles, the cost of regular dinosaur oil with a drain interval of 3000 miles will require at least 5 quarts and a filter per oil change, for 25,000 miles you will need 40 quarts and 8 filters, this comes to a total of about $168.00 (40 quarts @ $3.00, 8 filters @ $6.00). For the same vehicle using top-of-the-line AMSOIL 100% Synthetic Oil with a drain interval of 25,000 miles in conjunction with an AMSOIL Absolute Efficiency oil filter, you will need 5 quarts and 1 filter, this comes to a total of about $59.75 (5 quarts @ $8.75, 1 filter @ $16.00). You would save $108.25 over conventional oil by using AMSOIL premium synthetic oil. This, along with the benefits of better wear protection, lower engine temperatures, improved fuel efficiency and easier cold-weather starts. All of these benefits add up to reduced operating costs and longer engine life. Q: Hyundai Elantra: Horsepower?
I am looking to buy a 2010 Hyundai Elantra. I drive on a busy highway to work, filled with speeding big trucks. I want a car that I can get on the highway, and take off, rain or snow. I've been told that refers to "horsepower", but I'm not sure if all HP numbers mean the same thing on different cars. Do you think an Elantra will serve me well? I'm referring to the Touring, specifically.

A: well the Elantra touring has 138 HP. how well this does for you will depend on how many passengers you might be carrying and what sort of gear you might be hauling, if any. weight is the number one enemy of speed and acceleration, so those variables might come into play the Elantra has a 2.0 liter four cylinder engine. it's not powerful, but is very capable nonetheless, if a bit loud under hard acceleration. i have a '08 sedan with the exact same engine as the Touring and never have a hard time reaching highway speeds, merging with traffic, or passing when i need to. once on the highway i am at 80mph before i know it, and the engine is very responsive across the power band. just this morning i was in a hurry and had to detour off the freeway and onto the streets. i was diving in a spirited manner and the car did very well. dare i say it was even fun. but yes, despite its somewhat modest acceleration from 0-60 it goes well and keeps up with traffic no problem. it also handles reasonably well. i would think the Touring model is similar so far is in the rain i find the car very stable on and off the highway, although i have no experience with the snow. again, this is for the sedan, but i have heard the Touring handles even better. so i would think the same holds true. its not sporty, but it can hold its own for what it is here is a video of a Touring going 0 - 60mph under spirited acceleration. it pretty much simulates what it would be like getting onto a busy highway in a hurry. this is a manual transmission car, but the auto is similar, and features a 3rd gear position just right of D in the shift gate if you want to hold 3rd gear for more power. then you can shift to D once up and going good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzox3Ah7MlU&feature=fvw

Q: i have a brand new 2010 2.0 hyundai elantra?
why would i be getting lousy gas mile. 16 mpg highway combined the dealer tells me that it is my driving bs. What can i do if the dealer says there is nothing they can do, drive it through the window??????????

A: Yeah, Bubba whatever, the EPA is the one who gives the mileage numbers for each vehicle. All my cars have gotten MPG in the EPA range. 16MPG in an Elantra is almost impossible I'd say. 1st I'd check my math and make notes of your driving and the mileage between fill-up's and how many gallons purchased each time you fill-up. 2nd make sure you have about 32-35 PSI in each tire. 3rd Check all your fluids, might be time for an oil change. A new car may not get the EPA mileage the 1st few tanks of gas, but should be pretty close after that if it's running proper. As others said if you drive like a race car or have a full load of people or items in the car that will drastically effect the MPG's.

Q: What are the taxable items in a car purchase?
The reason for my asking is that store sticker prices oftentimes reflect charges for floor carpeting, as well as inland freight and handling -- in addition to the MSRVs. Example: a 2010 Hyundai Elantra Basic is supposedly priced at $16,895; however, most dealerships charge price it at $17,710, to accommodate the extra costs. Would the $95 for the carpets and $720 be taxable? I know that manufacturer's REBATES definitely are ...

A: The whole shebang is taxable. Everything and anything that's included with the car and in the price will be taxed. In your example you would pay tax on $17,710...

Q: Looking for advice on buying new car and haggling with salesman?
I'm going to buy a new car this weekend, and tips on getting the price down? Also, the vehicle I want to buy is listed as $17,000...what will I *really* end up paying for it with the added costs they always tack on? It's a 2010 Hyundai Elantra.

A: No need to haggle with the salescrooks. You can shop online nowadays. $4000 off MSRP the top-of-line Elantra at http://amexnetwork.zag.com/new-used-car.html It's a FREE service.
