Q: 2008 Hyundai Sonata sun roof wind deflector installation?
How do you install a wind deflector for the sun roof on a 2008 Hyundai Sonata GLS? Does it just depend on the type I get or does the car already have screw holes as I know some Kia's do. Thanks in advance!

A: Some are manufactured to fit existing factory fitted sun roofs.http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/details/QQHyundaiQQSonataQQWeathertechQQSunroof_Wind_DeflectorQQ19992005QQW2489071.html?apwcid=D1203533282W47bc75e2bd0dd google for the 2008 deflector

Q: How does a Hyundai 2008 Hyundai Sonata GLS Sedan 4D FWD stack up next to a Honda?
I have a car dealer telling me that a lot of consumers are going for the Hyundai because it looks just as nice as the 2008 Honda Accord EX Sedan, is as big or bigger than the Honda, is as reliable and a Honda, and is less expensive. Anybody agree or disagree and why?

A: Hyundai is a much better bang for the buck as you get a car richer in features and options at a lower price than a comparable Honda. They do also have a longer warranty coverage. The only "negative" point about Hyundai is its horrible depreciation. The brand, although MUCH improved in recent years is still recovering from the stigma of some of their old products (like Excel) and the resale values are really low so if you're thinking about keeping the car for a few years, selling it and getting a new car, Honda may be a better bet because Hondas retain their value much better. HOWEVER, this can be also seen as an opportunity because for the same reason you can buy a slightly used Hyundai, for example 1-2 years old with 10-20K miles for significantly less than a new one.

Q: How much to program a key-less remote for a 2008 Hyundai Sonata?

A: I had a similar problem with my 07 Azera Limited. A few months after I bought it the remote stopped working. They said it was the battery and replaced it it worked for a couple weeks than stopped again. They gave me a new one under warranty. Your keyless remote should be covered under the 60k warranty, unless you are referring to an aftermarket part you have purchased my Hyundai Dealer said they charge $120 to program the remote. If it came from Hyundai with the vehicle it is under warranty. Take it back to the dealer.

Q: Where is the auxilery jack located in 2008 Hyundai Sonata?

A: Unfortunately, there isn't one on the 08 model.

Q: Hyundai Sonata 2008 gls 2.4l dohc 5 speed. How fast can it go from 0 to 60 mph?
I can’t really test it in this weather, and traffic we’re having. So I would like to know if anyone knows how fast it can go. I just picked up the car the other day and I love it, and I also don’t want a wreak less add on to my license lol. One of these days I’ll hit up the track, but for know, who can humor me?

A: Should do 0-60 in the high 7/low 8 second range, top speed is around 115 mph. I guess you meant the 1/4 mile drag track not a 2-3 mile street track, that seemed to confuse the prior posters.

Q: i got a 2008 hyundai sonata what does tpms stand for on the instrument panel?

A: As stated previously it stands for Tire Pressure Monitoring System, be aware that you have an indicator light for your tire pressures which looks like a half flat tire with an exclamation mark inside of it and you have a TPMS indicator. If your TPMS light is on then there is a malfunction with the TPMS system and one or more sensors is not reading and needs to be checked at your dealer, under warranty of course. If you have the semi flat tire indicator on then your system is working properly and you have improper inflation in one or more of your tires. These sensors are sensitive to low as well as high pressures. Hope this helps.

Q: 2008 Hyundai sonata rear view mirror loose?

A: the auto parts store sells glue for mirror for about two bucks

Q: Where can I buy (onlone or in a store) a replacement headrest for my 2008 Hyundai Sonata?
My 2008 Hyundai Sonata GLS has a hair coloring stain on the front passenger headrest because my mom sat in it after getting her hair colored once, The seat is beige cloth and the hair dye is brownish. I'm not even going to ask for advice to get it out since it has been over a year and I am sure it will not come out but suggestions are welcome. I just want to buy a new headrest and it seems like nowhere online will sell one and I'm sure if I call hyundai they will not have them since they don't make that sonata line anymore, the stain is just ugly and I hate stains on cars considering the fact I drive cars til they fall apart which means I might have this car for another 7 to 10 years, and I don't want to see that stain for the next ten years

A: Before you buy a head rest from dealer, I would recommend you to talk to a service adviser there a bout your problem. Dealer have all sorts of chemicals that could remove the color transfer from leather or cloth materials. I have done this many times for customers. Products we are using for this matter are not available for purchase by public.Try to remove stain before you buy a new head rest unit. Cheaper this way. Dealer might do it quick for you at no charge (at least this is what I would have done).

Q: How do you get the housing off a oil filter in a 2008 Hyundai Sonata?
About 2000 miles ago, I decided to save $10 bucks and get my oil changed at a Quik Lube and then about a month ago, I started to get a really bad oil leak. We took it to get fixed and the mechanic said that (okay I dont know much about cars but I will explain this the best I can) but the oil filter sits in a housing and my mechanic needs to remove that housing to get to the part that is cracked and leaking oil. For some reason he doesn't know how to remove that housing to get to the part that needs to be replaced. Is there a way to remove the housing in the 2008 Sonata? Should removing it even be a problem? And does anyone know what exactly may be the problem or what might be the cause of the leak that is around the area of the oil filter and housing? ( I kind of understood what he was telling us but dont fully understand) But any advice anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated!

A: Dana.... 2000 miles ago does not indicate that you have a workmanship problem however, the oil filter housing gasket might be one of the issues you might have. If this is the case, you should go back to Quick Lube place and have them deal with it. Don't know if they have used OEM replacement kit or aftermarket. They have to deal with the problem. Secondly.... if its not the oil filter housing ring seal, then you might have a problem further down the oil filter housing path. This in fact should be dealt by Hyundai Dealer. If the extent of the oil leak is further down "the pipe" just take it to the dealer together with service records and they should repair under warranty. I had a couple of Sonata's with oil leaks further down "the pipe" and had to put warranty claim on them. So...either way, you should take it to a shop (dealer or non dealer) and let them deal with it. Should not cost you in the end any money. ****EDIT**** "Alekat" It can't be a double gasket and/or wrong oil filter. We are talking about a cartridge style located on the top of the engine. If its the oil cap gasket, this could not be covered under warranty because the oil change got done by "Quick Lube"....

Q: How do I remove the driver's seat of Hyundai Sonata?
My wedding band dropped somewhere under the driver's seat. I looked everywhere in the car, but couldn't find it. It has to be under the seat! Can someone explain how to remove the driver's seat of a 2008 Hyundai Sonata? I already tried looking under the seat by pushing it all the way forward and then back.

A: There should be four bolts, one at each corner and they are covered by small plastic trim pieces. Undo all four of these bolts and the seat should lift out. Be careful, though! There is a connecting wire under there that is for the side impact airbag and you should remove the battery's negative terminal before disconnecting it. Good luck.

Q: Question for Hyundai Sonata 2008 owners?
How do you change the bulb of the stop light which is the one on the bottom of the back of the window? The bulb that it uses is a 921.

A: Its a mechanics nightmare. Its very tight to remove the back cover. You need like "pick" tool to get out the bottom tabs at the same time and pull the cover in order to reach the bulb. Takes a mechanic in the shop about 9/10 minutes. The spot is so close to back glass, it makes it almost impossible. Good luck

Q: Would you buy a 2008 Hyundai Sonata for $12,500? 22,000 miles, pretty good shape?

A: Depends on which trim model your looking at but that seems to be a decent price. If that's for a fully loaded Sonata I think that's very good. If it's for the base model then I think that's average. Just like with all used cars get as much info you can, have a tech take a look at it if possible, and give it a good test drive.

Q: Is it possible to swap wheels from a 2004 hyundai sonata and 2008 camry le?
I want to swap the aftermarket wheels from my 2004 hyundai sonata with a 2008 Camry LE Sedan factory wheels. This way the 2008 will have the aftermarket wheels, but I want to know if its possible or if I have to get new wheels. My 2004 Hyundai Sonata has tires that are 215/50-17 and the camry I found if were placed on a aftermarket rim, the tire would be 215/55-17 Is that possible? I just realized they were different bolt patterns, but my question is tire size, could I keep the low profile tire size I have on my hyundai (215/50-17) and find a rim with the correct camry le bolt size and use the old tire? Thanks! :)

A: To give you the right answer... this is the formula to calculate difference in tire size and see if you can swap them: 215 divided by 50% equal 107.50 mm diagonal section of the tire; 215 divided by 55% equal 118.25 mm diagonal section of the tire; the difference from 118.25 to 107.50 gets divided by 2. with other words: 118.25 minus 107.50 divided by 2 equal: 5.375 mm. Translated: should you use 215/55R17 instead of 215/50R17, the bigger size will put your vehicle higher up from ground with 5.375 mm. What does this mean in speed coefficient? If you read on speedometer 100 km/hr (62.5 miles/hr) in reality you are driving with 104 km/hr (65 miles/hr). Long story-short.... YES, swap the aftermarket tires (not the rims) and use them on your Camry. Difference is minor.

Q: Can a 2008 4 cylinder Hyundai Sonata pull a 4X8 U Haul?

A: It can and do it fine too. However it depends on how much weight overall you are trying to pull. Will it be just you in an empty car or will you have a car full of people? Is the 4x8 enclosed and how much will the total load be? The owner of Team Promotion uses a Hyundai Elantra to tow an open 4x6 trailer and motorcycle around, he has over 100,000 miles on the car with no major problems. Like I said he isn't carrying 500 pounds of passengers and the trailer only weighs 200 pounds plus 450lbs for the motorcycle. So, you need to calculate the total weight you are going to be forcing the car to move, if passengers/trailer/contents is over 2000 pounds then forget about it. It also matters greatly where you will be driving, if the roads are flat that will be a lot easier then hills/mountains.

Q: Ford Focus vs Hyundai Sonata?
Hello Everyone. I am just looking for some advice. Which is the best car to buy. The 2008 Ford Focus, or the 2008 Hyundai Sonata? The only things i really care about are Fuel Economy and Passenger comfort. So between the 2008 Ford Focus and the 2008 Hyundai Sonata, which has the best fuel economy and passenger comfort? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

A: The Sonata is larger than the Focus -- at least marginally larger, inside and out, so that may effect your comfort if you're tall or heavy-set. The Focus has better fuel economy and (I believe) it's more fun to drive than the Sonata, which to me is kind of stodgy in the handling department. You should definitely drive both cars before making a buying decision. Whichever one offers the best value, comfort and economy in your eyes is the better car.
