Q: What is a better buy, 2005 Toyota Matrix or 2007 Hyundai Elantra?
I am buying a used car, and I have narrowed my options down to a sharp looking 2005 Toyota Matrix and an even sharper 2007 Hyundai Elantra. Both are $8,999. Given a perfect world and no extra needed repairs or work, which car is the better buy (in terms of performance, value, depreciation, etc)

A: The Elantra is the better car. Your comparing Hyundai's newest generation Elantra to Toyota's previous generation Matrix. It has a stronger engine then the Matrix, 138 HP the Matrix's 130 and it still gets better gas mileage, 35 MPG to the Matrix's 33 MPG. In fact the Elantra was Consumer Reports top pick of small car's tested http://www.motortrend.com/features/newswire/34677/index.html. The only real advantage the Matrix has is cargo room. I have over 155,000 miles on Elantra so I would think the newer Elantra's would be even better. This idea that Toyota is automatically better just because they are Toyota is way overplayed. The fact's are on the Elantra's side.

Q: Where Can I Get A Steel Black Factory Rim For 2007 Hyundai Elantra!!!?
I have a 2007 Hyundai Elantra and need to replace a steel factory rim. I called a dealer but they are charging me an arm & leg. Can anyone suggest anywhere I can find one for under 200 bucks online. Thanks in advance!

A: You can look for one in a junk yard.... you may also try Tire Barn, etc.... any place that sells tires.

Q: I drive a 2007 Hyundai Elantra and I am having problems with my Iphone having interference when its plugged in?
The problem is when I have it plugged into the charger and I am playing it through the Aux jack. I get quite a bit of interference, and I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem, and if there is a way to eliminate it.

A: would try a higher quality adapter kit.

Q: If you shift a automatic 2007 hyundai elantra for fun will it mess up the engine?
It has a squiggly shifter P R N D 3 2 L....I know how too drive stick shift but my dad traded his in and got me a car for my 18th bday and i dont rev my engine on the auto.....i like stick shift and use too stick cuz its fun too shift.

A: Well for most automatic cars when you have no real control over the car, a computer dose all the work, so even if you do shift up or down, if your computer dosent agree with you it wont shift itself. Ive seen alot of complete mor....s do this and what happens is theyre shifter cord snaps (a 80-150 dollar cord running from your trany to shifter) or the shifter it self wears out and wont stay in a spot. However i only know this to be true on most american and jap cars , hyundai/kia might have a cheaper tranny system that might not work that way and you might just end up buying a new tranny rest assured though your engine will most likely be fine unless your redlining and drop to a lower gear..

Q: Will the stock wheels on a 2006 lexus IS250 fit on a 2007 hyundai elantra?
i really like how the IS250 stock wheels look so ive been looking around for them but im still unsure if they would fit. i don't want to do anything extra like get different springs of lift or lower the car. i just want to slap them on. anyone know anyone or seen this before? let me know. thanks.

A: Only dealer can program remote to your vehicle. Must use their scanner to load frequency from BCM to remote. Sorry to have give you the reality and receive thumb down for this. Weather you like it or not, this is the reality. I was under the impression that you want to know how to get the job done. I will remove my answer if you consider to have been offended.

Q: Factory/Dealer recommended Service for 2007 Hyundai Elantra?
I bought a 2007 Elantra last year with 27K miles on it and now have about 34K miles on it. The Hyundai dealership has been great with little things thus far and handed me their "menu" of things to get done at certain mileages. Although nothing seems wrong with the car, I know problems can build up if not taken care of properly ahead of time. Which of these are most important to get done (besides oil change) and which can I wait to get? 30K miles (Factory Recommended Service): System Cooling Flush - $90 Inspect brake system - $?? Replace engine air filter and PCV valve - $45 Perform Transmission system fluid flush - $180 Does this look too high in price? Are all three vital maintenance needs at this point? The cooling system flush sounds right with other non-dealership shops, but the other two sound high. I think I have to get these done at the Hyundai dealership so I don't void my warranty, right? Thanks!

A: You should first check your owner's manual for recommended service intervals. These must be done to preserve your warranty. This may not be the same as what the dealer wants to do (at your expense). Cooling system flush: Doubtful you should need it that soon. Really check the manual on this one. Inspect brake system: Many non-dealer service providers will perform this inspection free of charge. Document their findings Replace air filter and PCV. That's probably correct. You can in many cases have these put in at no additional charge (above the cost of the parts themselves) at larger auto parts suppliers. Transmission fluid flush: Yeah, that sounds high. Regarding warranty liability, always check with the dealer.

Q: amp and sub in a 2007 Hyundai elantra?
i just got a 2007 elantra with a stock radio. i want to add an amp and a sub. can i run one of the speaker lines into the amp high input jack then wire it into the power with a toggle switch and fuse, instead of ripping out the whole dash and everything? thanks

A: I wouldnt, you qwould be getting hardly any power and it would sound like sh** just get a good amp and sub and box and go from there.

Q: when does a 2007 Hyundai Elantra need a timing belt replaced? I've heard 100K from dealer and 60K from my mech?

A: "Hyundai Guru" needs to bone up if he's going to run a Hyundai service department. The timing belt replacement interval for ALL models is 60,000. BTW, do not hesitate to do this, the consequences are too great. If you lose a timing belt in a Hyundai, you will most likely lose your engine. ADDED: @Hyundai Guru - We're in the US portion of YA, so the assumption is that we're using US units rather than metric. I offer my very qualified apology for the misunderstanding. (BTW, lay off the sarcasm; you're out of your league.) This may also explain the mechanic's discrepancy between the 100k and 60k. Maybe he was making an honest misinterpretation rather than trying to rip off his customer.

Q: what oil hyundai elantra 2007?
what oil does my hyundai elantra slx 2007 model take? I have lost my owners manual.

A: 5w-30 synthetic is what I use in mine takes almost 5 quarts when the oil filter is changed at the same time

Q: Does Anyone know how to remove a radio out of an 2007 hyundai Elantra?

A: Hyundai provided dealers with special tools designated for Elantra bezel panel removal. You can only use this tool for radio installation purpose. Using different tools you might scratch the panels badly.

Q: 2007 Honda Fit or 2007 Hyundai Elantra?
I am purchasing a vehicle this Saturday at a dealer but can't decide between the Fit or Elantra. They both have pros and cons but are about even. Does anyone have any experience with these vehicles? 2007 Honda Fit Sport, AT, cruise, power doors/locks, 28,420 miles $13,600. 9 months left on bumper to bumper warranty. or 2007 Hyundai Elantra GLS, AT, cruise, power doors/locks, 29,495 miles $12,488. 2.5 years left on bumper to bumper warranty. Both have clean 1-owner CarFax reports.

A: I own a 1998 Hyundai Lantra 1.6 GLS and it is as good as new. It is a great car. Elantra is only different from mine on the outside, and that one is also a lot younger. But i tell you from experience: it's a very good car.
