Q: What is a good website for things to put in my 2006 hyundai elantra?
i just got a 2006 Hyundai Elantra and i want to put some cool things inside. do you know any good websites for things like seat covers, floor mats, and anything else that would "pimp" my car haha
A: We do custom seat covers, floor mats, and dash covers for your 2006 Hyundai Elantra. Check out our website at www.seatcoversunlimited.com. Hope this helps.
Q: Is 2006 Hyundai Elantra a good car?
I came across a 2006 model hyunda elantra which has run around 18,000 kms. Looks brand new and comes 2 years warranty from the used car dealer. I also happen to have a look at Honda civic 2006 VTI and has run around 90,000 Kms and its in a good condition as well. The dealer is ready to provide additional 2 years warranty on it. Is it still a better car than Hyundai Elantra?? Both are Auto and Sedan models.
A: I have a 2001 Elantra. It has over 150,000 miles (241401 kms) on it and it's still running strong. That should tell you how good Hyundai has become. Not saying the Civic is bad, just IMO I would take the Elantra over it especially with such a discrepancy in kms. Plus the Elantra is roomier and has a stronger engine. The only real advantage the Civic has is fuel economy.
Q: What are the warning symbols on the 2006 Hyundai Elantra?
I don't have an owners' manual and I was just wondering if there was a list for the dashboard warning symbols (idiot lights) for this car?
A: Are your fog lights on. That sounds like the symbol you describe.
Q: Is the 2006 Hyundai Elantra a worthy car?
I'm looking to hear from people who actually own an Elantra. What kind of problems have you had and at what mileage? Does it make a good travel car? I want something comfortable and reasonably quiet. I have a bad back and do mostly highway travel 60 miles each way.
A: The Elantra is a great basic car. I bought a 2001 in 2006 with 73k miles on it, it now has over 170k miles on it and I have never had any major problems with this car. The only issue I had was the check engine light wouldn't go off for the longest time, but it was just a blocked hose, once we figured that out it has been great. It has never broken down on me or left me stranded anywhere. I do recommend that you change the belts every 60k miles and the tranny fluid every 30k as well as your oil as recommended. As for comfort I have always felt pretty comfy in mine and I have driven it 5 plus hours non-stop. Good luck!
Q: Where do I find a front original Ashtray for a 2006 Hyundai Elantra GLS?
I just bought the car and all the ashtrays are missing. I smoke, so I would like the one in the front. It has the outer part that you push and it pops out, it is missing the actual ashtray, The inner part that you would take out and dump and put back. Help...Please. I already checked with the dealer and they have no way to obtain that part or even the whole ashtray assembly. (outer and inner)
A: The easiest way to find it would be looking on eBay. The cheapest way would be to go to a junkyard. Parts like the ashtray are generally interchangeable with all years of the same body-style.
For a junkyard, look on car-part.com, but search for a more common part such as a door, as they generally wouldn't pay to list something as small as an ashtray.
Good Luck!
P.S. Just ashing out the window and tossing the butts will keep the car smelling much better...
Q: Are a throttle body service and engine decarb service necessary on my 2006 Hyundai Elantra with 50,000 miles?
If they are necessary, do you recommend that the dealer do it? Or should I take it else where? Any suggestions?
A: Is someone telling you that this needs to be done? I can't imagine it actually being necessary; to "decarb" the engine (sounds like they are saying that they can decarbonize, or remove carbon buildup on piston tops and valves, you would actually have to remove the head, scrape the piston tops (or remove them and use a chemical solution to strip off the carbon) and hot tank or otherwise clean the heads as well. Not a minor procedure, and not something for a motor with only 50K miles on it.
If a mechanic is recommending this, I'd get a second opinion from the dealer. Also, if it's not specified in the Hyundai maintenance schedule, it's probably not necessary. Besides, given its age and mileage, your machine should still be under factory warranty.
Q: Anyone with a 2006 Hyundai Elantra GT?
I am pretty set on purchasing a 2006 Hyundai Elantra GT, with 32000 miles for 10,500. I have read all the reviews etc on the internet, so please no answers with links to websites, as I have probably already read them. Just wondering if anyone on here has this car or knows anything about it, such as reliability, value, and problems from personal experience.
A: i had a 2000 Hyundai Elantra - sedan & wagon they were good ,
(just traded for a 2007 accent & a 2005 Hyundai tuscan.)
Q: 2006 Hyundai Elantra stereo, dome light, automatic entry not working?
I had to jump my battery after leaving the lights on inside my car. After jumping it the stereo, dome lights and keyless entry stopped working. Also, when I turn my car off my headlights wont turn on and my trip odometer resets. Fuses have been checked.
A: Try by disconnecting the actual battery for half an hour.
A reset could fix things.
Q: What material is my frame inside my 2006 Hyundai Elantra made of?
A: Elantra does not have a frame. It has unibody construction made primarily of steel.
Q: I was driving my 2006 Hyundai Elantra when I hit a puddle. It stalled. what should I do next?
It wouldn't start at first. I pushed it out of the puddle, the water was just beneath the doors. It started but ran sluggish, then the check engine light came on.
A: Mark S,. autos use to have a distributor, that distributed the electricity in sequence to the different spark plugs. Going thru water could shut that down. The distribution and firing or electricity nowadays is done via a computer chip.
That you were able to eventually restart the motor is a good sign. Is the car still running sluggishly, or improving? If everything dries out, and it runs okay, then you're in the clear. Some of those check engine codes are left in memory until they are cleared manually? If the car is running right, go to a mechanic, and have him clear the code. You can read your owners manual on how to clear those check engine codes. Now if the car is still sputtering and skipping after a day or so, you might need some work?? $$$?
Q: Does a 2006 Hyundai Elantra have a Toyota engine and trans?
just a crazy question.
i heard this from a guy who works on a lot of Japanese cars, he told me that if i see on any window of the car it will say Korea - japan witch means it most likely has a toyota engine and trans witch will last longer then a Korean built engine.
A: I would never use that mechanic, he does not know too much about cars. Hyundai engines are of Hyundai design and manufacture. As for the transmission, I am not sure about the Elantra, but the new Genesis Sedan uses transmission from Aisin (V6) and ZF (V8) (The Genesis V6 coupe also uses the 6-spd ZF). The same Aisin 5-spd transmission is used by Toyota\Lexus and the ZF 6-spd transmission is the same as the ones used by BMW and Jaguar. In the past Hyundai used engines of Mitsubishi design, but not any more.
Q: Entry Problem with 2006 Hyundai Elantra Hatchback?
I recently got an Elantra bought used. The only problem with it is that when I use the key to open the door the alarm goes off. I have no problem opening the door with the remote but I'm afraid the remote will break eventually and I won't be able to get into the car. So if there is a reset or any other thing I can do on my own please answer, but if it is a major problem maybe i should bring it to the dealer?
A: dont lock with the remote and you should be ok/i have remotes for ten years/they still work ok/keep them dry and dont toss around and they will last a long time
Q: How to remove Car stereo in 2006 2006 hyundai elantra?
just the control panel
A: including speakers or just the control panel
Q: Anybody knows the sizes of the factory speakers for the 2006 hyundai elantra?
A: Go to crutchfieldAudio.com and go to the 'outfit my car' link and you will be able to search all speakers based on what will fit your car. I believe their database to be 100% accurate.

Q: Recently bought a 2006 Hyundai Elantra and wondering if the antenna can be lowered? If so how?
A: Unfortunately, Elantra didn't come with power antenna. It is only the rod installed on the quarter panel, long as hell. You might be able to find shorter version aftermarket. This antenna is actually related only to AM and not to FM stations. Check with Best Buy or some other specialized radio installers.
Good luck.
