Q: Hyundai Santa Fe reliability grade?
How do you rate Hyundai Santa Fe about reliability compared to Honda Pilot, Subaru Tribeca and Toyota Higlander?
A lot says that Hyundai's are crap...Is this true up to this year 2011?
So rate them 1-10. 10 is highest...
Rate Honda, Toyota, and Subaru first, then rate the Hyundai.
Thank you! I am considering the Hyundai because its a lot cheaper, but I want to know if it is worth the savings? Or it will just cost me much more in the future? I will buy a brand new car, and will probably use it minimum of 10yrs.
A: Consumer Reports the higher number the better Hyundia 78 Honda 74 Subaru 70 Toyota 81
Q: Toyota vs. Hyundai vs. Dodge?
I'm looking to buy a new car because mine took a dump on me. (Litterally. It dumped a bunch of anti-freeze and I was told the head gasket is blown and not worth repairing.)
So I figured, I'm going to get myself a new car for once since I've never really owned a new car. (This last one was a 1999 hand-me-down from my brother). My main requirements:
2010 or 2011
4/All wheel drive
30+ miles per gallon city and highway
leather seats (I have two dogs... one who sometimes gets an upset stomach on longer trips.)
That's the big stuff for me, as well as having a decent warranty.
Unfortunately, there are like 5 major dealerships within a 2 hour drive from where I live (3 in an hours drive). (our state was the most hardest hit by the government forcing dealerships to close.) So there is NO competition really.
I had it narrowed down to a 2011 Toyota Rav4 limited... but they were not budging price wise. (because there is no competition, they feel they don't need to wheel and deal cause options are limited.)
after figuring things out, the total price was $30,000... and the sales guy came down to $29,200. He also would take my other car as a trade in for $400. I basically told him I'd be looking around for a better deal and that coming down less than $1000 wasn't exactly impressive. Eventually he called me the next day and said he'd let it go for $27,400.
I found a Hyundai Santa Fe, 2011... AWD, leather seats, fully automatic, they are willing to sell for $26,400. The only thing would be that it wouldn't get as good of gas milage as the Rav4.
I told the Toyota salesman if he can match them, I'd get the car today. He basically tried to make it sound like it wasn't that great of a deal because Hyundai is crap... (even though my brother had one and loved it for many years...)
but he refused to come down that extra $1000 to make the sale.
So my main question is... should I just say too bad so sad for you and give the sale to Hyundai? Should I give a second look to Dodge (the only other major dealership I had kind of brushed off.)
or am I being too tough on Toyota and passing up on a good deal to get a 2011 Rav4 for $27,400?

Q: car worth buying in Dubai,UAE?
I live in Dubai UAE, and really like to buy the 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.4L or MItsubishi Outlander or Kia Sportage 2011, 2.4 L .I am not sure about the resale value ,performance, reliability and safety of these cars . because I keep receiving conflicting information on this topic .
There are Ramadan promotions going on for Ford (2010 model) and Nissan Xtrail(2010 model).my friend suggested me about Kia Soren to also.
I am really new to this topic and confused.
My budget is AED 70000-80000
Can anyone help to me on this topic?suggest me what would be the best for my budget.Specialy for UAE
Thanks in advance
A: As an Expat, it is better to own a low-budget car.
My choice in those you have mentioned
1. Hyundai Sata Fe
2. Nissan X-Trail / X-Terra
3. Kia Sportage
Sorento is not a 4WD and Outlander is not good.
Ignore the donkey on this forum
1 and 2 may be slightly over budget. Good offers on the Altima - Great value for money
Q: Is it wise to buy an extended warranty for a used vehicle from the dealership?
I'm buying a 2006 hyundai santa fe with 54,000 km.
so the 5 year initial warranty is still up til 2011.
I'm a moderate driver. In my other car I put an average of 8,000 km/year.
A: Make sure you know exactly what the factory warranty covers and what the extended warranty will cover beyond the factory. If your not planning on keeping the car longer than the warranty, then no. If you are, wait till it's late in the year of 2010. And you don't have to go through the dealer either. There may be other carriers out there that are cheaper and better. I'd say forget the extended warranty for now and save for one later.
